Got a mint?

YAY! It is Friday!!! Today was a quiet day at work. The phone only rang once! That is great because Thursday it rang like crazy. So I got a lot done today.

After work I helped my good friend, Julie, with some graduation things. Both of her kids graduated from college this year! She is gracious enough to include our Assistant Pastor in the celebration. He, too, graduated from his classes! Julie has planned a nice dinner after church Sunday. We made mints. It was fun.....not to mention time consuming and ...did I mention TEDIOUS? But it was fun company. Julie and I sure do a lot of laughing when we are together. Makes for some great memories! Well, I won't forget making these mints.

There are silhouettes of grads, a cap, a diploma and a book. It was fun! We had a little bit of ingredients left so and Julie gave it to me to make some Dora mints tomorrow. I believe we have some Dora molds left from birthday party where Gene's Aunt Aileen made some Dora gummies. Lynzi can't wait!

Promotional Sunday

Here is Lynzi getting her first promotional certificate for completing the Preschool Sunday School class. She will now be in the Kindergarten-1st Grade class. I was asked to take pictures...which I got this one! But the girl presenting them went way too fast. I got a total of 3 pictures!
When I got the church camera out I went to take what was on the memory card and save it to the computer. I found this picture. I do not remember it at all! HA! Arrrrrrrrrr

Excited to grow up

"Look mom! Come here...look. Watch me!!" She is getting so big! Here Lynzi is washing her hands ...
ok, so not such a big task....but she is doing it without a STOOL!!!

Later that night we're sitting on the couch, snuggling, eating popcorn and watching BUZBY. They were talking about CHORES. She said, "What is a chore?" So I explained to her that it is a job you have to do. I said, "You have a chore...cleaning your room!" She giggled...because she knows she isn't very effecient with that chore! I said, "When you get bigger you can do chores like washing the dishes." She got so excited. She lets out this small high pitched squeek when she gets excited. I gotta tell ya, I got pretty excited too! HA! Then she said, "And I could go shopping!" Now, is that a chore? She said, "I can drive myself and mommy and daddy can sit in the backseat!" Cute---but probably not gonna happen! I just love it when she has her wheels a-turnin'.

ANIMALS WON!!

Today Lynzi and I went to the store to get the Animal decor for the bathroom upstairs. Here is what we got!

We are not done because we bought these cute little stick ons to decorate the walls with as well. I will let Lynzi help with that tomorrow.

Also today I got my shower curtain for the downstairs bathroom. I really like it!

Only a few more touches and it will be done! I am so happy with it!

Promotion Sunday

Today was Promotion Sunday at church. Lynzi has been promoted to the Kindergarten/1st grade class. She said she will miss her teacher, Jeanie, but can go next door and say hi every week! How cute. She is wearing her new outfit she got at her Preschool Graduation from Julie.

When we got home from church there was a bag of candy laying on my front step. More candy donations for the parade. Look at all this candy! This makes 4 boxes of candy to throw at the parade!

Yesterday we went to the park and played and had a picnic with our friends Karen and Sydney. Here is a picture of Lynzi and Sydney IN a tree. Perhaps this is Winnie the Pooh's home!

Tomorrow is the big parade and Lynzi is so excited. She went right to sleep when she went to bed tonight. She was telling her baby all about what to expect at the parade! Cute.

Attack cat, parade preparation, and missing friends

I am sitting outside in the sun. What a wonderful feeling. the house is clean, the last of the laundry is in the washer and dryer...so I can just sit outside and enjoy the sun and watch Lynzi play in her sandbox. (Playing in sand box = tracking sand into the house. Thus the cycle again.) It is 65 degrees...and should be tomorrow! Thursday, after working, doing some grocery shopping, fixing dinner, eating and then cleaning up, Gene, Lynzi and I took a walk in the neighborhood. It wasn't too cold, but not warm enough, but it was nice to take a walk. On our walk we met a cute grey cat who was starving for attention. When Lynzi would stop petting him he would put is front paws up on her to get her to pet him again. Lynzi just loved it.

On Friday I finished my work early and began to work on things for the parade on Monday. Angel Food Ministries is going to have a float in the parade where we will hand out candy and Angel Food Menus.

It is always a fun time. Lynzi is "essited" to ride on the float. I will be getting to our float site at about 830am and decorating it until 10am when the parade starts. Dr. Marc at our church will provide the trailer, hay bales and the tractor to pull the float. Thank you Dr. Marc! It will be a lot of fun and it looks like we will have some good weather for it. Here is a picture of the candy I went thru and got out of packages. Thanks to my good friend, Julie for all the candy donations!

After the parade my good friend Becky and her family is coming for a cookout. They normally come on the 4th of July, but why wait until then? :) I am looking forward to getting together with them early this year!

So...about Julie. She is the director of Angel Food Ministries at church...and why isn't she helping with this parade??? Where is she???

"Wading in the gulf" says a text message with this picture attached! While sitting here she has been sending me more pictures....

"Shaggy's Seafood Gulf Port Miss." She said, "Just ordered." I said, "HUSH PUPPY!"

"My boats and house"

Ok now she is dreaming! One day...she will be back to reality in Indiana!

I miss being silly with her already! And she just left Thursday!

Speaking of silly. I talked to my roommate from college today on messenger. She is living and working New Hampshire . I miss being silly with her too. The moments of attaching plungers to the floors in Target, and her carrying around a bar stool that was on display with the word SAMPLE on it and saying it was her stool sample. To being saved by the mini blinds in our bedroom during a imaginary wind storm. To laying around talking about how many calories are in a tube of mascara. How fun! And that was all in one day! I miss her. One of my favorite phrases I say to Gene is..."Michele would have laughed!" when he doesn't think something I do or say is funny.

Well, a friend just called and asked if we wanted to go to the park for a picnic. I guess we are going to go have some fun. I will take pictures and hopefully blog them later! Have a great Saturday!

Bathrooms and Graduation

Lynzi graduated from Preschool on Monday! I can't believe she is going into Kindergarten in August! Here are couple pictures of our graduate.

Lynzi and her friend Gracie. Gracie is my friend, Karmen's, neice.
Each child was given the opportunity to say something in the microphone. Lynzi said, "I love my mommy." Awwww.So for graduation she got some money from a friend. We added to that to get Lynzi some "scrapbook stuff". She was so excited. She has asked for scrapbook stuff for her birthday. (Gene was getting things out of the fridge for supper...so we just don't leave it open all the time!)

Here Lynzi made a card for my friend, Julie, for her graduation gifts. The is her first things she made with her new scrapbook stuff. She wrote "THANKS" her self.
Last Friday Lynzi had her preschool picnic. Here she is playing with her friend, Anna.

Today we got a rug to put under our kitchen table. I like the small change in the room.
Not a good picture, but here is a new curtain I put up in the downstairs bathroom. The walls are a brick color and we are adding dark red accents.

Now for our bathroom downstairs. I thought we had all decided on an animal theme...but once we got to Wal*Mart to get the items Lynzi couldn't make up her mind. This will be her bathroom mainly...so we want her to be a part of what goes in there. I never thought it would be this hard! Here are the themes she is deciding on....
FISH 1
FISH 2
FROGS

Upstairs Bathroom

More painting! Today I have spent my day off painting the upstairs bathroom. I began peeling off the layers...yes layers of wallpaper off the walls a couple weeks ago when we were working on the downstairs bathroom. I got worn out and took a break from it for a while. Gene and I worked on getting all of it peeled. He kept working wile I went to Starbucks with some friends last night...then I worked until midnight to finish it while he slept. (Fair trade I think!) So the first picture is after getting the primer on the walls. It is a very small bathroom. It has a slanted ceiling so that is why there is a shadow.

The 2nd and 3rd pictures are after the first coat of yellow (and the blue tape). It is a much deeper yellow than what it looks here. Lynzi has picked out zoo animals such as monkeys, lions, giraffe's etc to add to the room. I can't wait to get it all done.

Hopefully, I can make the finishing touches to the bathroom while Gene is camping this weekend and Lynzi is at Grandma and Grandpa's. What a nice surprise they will come home to. I am also cleaning the entire house while noone is here to undo everything...for euchre night!
