Baby Boy Shower

My dear friends Julie, Karmen and Juli planned a baby shower for me at church on May 2nd. It was a great time. It was a very emotional time for me...not having my mom there. My sister and her 2 sisters were there. My family have been so supportive! It was so nice to have my sister say prayer before the shower...that too made my emotions crazy! Thanks to you all for a great shower! I love you all!
Lynzi is measuring out how much toilet paper she will use....for a game!

Aunt sis was not close!
Michelle....is the WINNER!

All I can say is CUTE!

...and ADORABLE!

The "surprise" Vera Bradley Diaper Bag. I picked it out at the sale and my dear friend Carol bought it for me!

And like Tina told me...the gifts were...."One for Lynzi, two for mommy!"

VIP Night

Last night was Lynzi's VIP night at school. (Formally knows as Grandparent's Night. She invited Grandpa, Aunt Margie, Grandma A., Grandpa Dan, and Julie. The night started with a program by the Kindergarden, 1st and 2nd grades.

Then after the program we headed to her classroom where Lynzi gave her VIP (Grandpa) a very special picture that she made him. It was a picture of her in the middle of the flower. On the back it said, "Thank you for helping me bloom." It was cute! She showed everyone around her classroom and showed off some of her work. Hers is a green house she made.

Then we headed to the library to the bookfair. On the way there we saw the 100 stars she got for reading 100 books in the Super Reader program. She got a t-shert and will get to go on a trip in May.
Here are all the good books she got at the book fair. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is her favorite!

We are very proud of our Kindergartener!

This weekend we went to see Grandpa. Lynzi wanted to take flowers to Grandma. Here she is putting them in the ground with Daddy and Grandpa. She picked the flowers out herself. I think Grandma would like them...she liked pastel colors.

On the way home Lynzi made me fall apart. It was dark and she was looking out her window the stars. She said, "Mommy, can you see the big dipper?" I could not but pointed out Orion's Belt. She said, "Oh Mommy, you can't wait for me to tell you this! See that shiniest star by his belt? That is Grandma. The shiniest star!" I lost it. Then when we got home I realized that star was in the south. The same direction that Lynzi's window faces...where she likes her blinds open to see the stars. It is like...Grandma is watching over Lynzi while she sleeps! Tear-jerking...isn't it?

Getting into the groove.

I have been keeping pretty busy the last 2 weeks. As most of you know my mother passed away on February 23rd. It was very unexpected so I am still a bit in shock. I spent a week in Marion to prepare for the funeral and such. Tina and I went through files, etc. My mom was an amazing organized person! Tina has agreed to take on all the medical responsibilities for dad and I the financial responsibilities. Then on Monday, March 2nd we were all back to work. It took a while to get into the groove at work, but finally by Friday I had everything caught up.

This past weekend I went to stay with my dad. The plan was to have the death certificate and get some things done with that, but it was not received yet. I did go dad's mail and paid a couple more bills. We also bought a used stroller/car seat while in Marion and Gene picked up a used Pack-n-Play in Muncie. We got some great deals.

Lynzi has been sick off and on since Saturday. (She has been on an antibiotic for an ear infection since Tues.) But Saturday she got sick in Daddy's car when they went to Muncie to get the great find. On Sunday, on the way to church, she complained of her tummy hurting....but was fine an hour or so later. Today, same thing. On the way home from school she didn't feel well. I had some errands to run but when we finally made it home she has slept on the couch ever since! I woke her up to go to Girl Scouts...but she said her tummy still hurt. So back to sleep she is.

I don't have any pictures to post...for 2 reasons. 1) no great picture taking opportunities and 2) broken camera!

The weather has been wonderful. A bit windy at times...but I am sooooooooooooo ready for spring!! If only we all could get well we could be outside enjoying it. I suppose we will all be well by the time it gets COLD again!

I did start on cleaning Lynzi's room downstairs. I could take this quiet moment to go finish that...or ....take a nap myself!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers these last 2 weeks.

Grandma and Lynzi

As you all know my mother passed away yesterday. It was a huge shock for us all. A HUGE shock to Lynzi. She took the news hard today. She cried and held me so tight around the neck.

Today, while I was with family making arrangements Lynzi made some pictures. Here is a picture she is going to give to Grandma at the funeral.

It is a picture of Grandma and Lynzi. I believe they are both crying. She said Grandma has on her church clothes because she only saw her in church clothes and pajamas.
I will write more when my brain isn't so tired.

IT'S A BOY

Well here it is. The video of our baby BOY! (Please try to ignore the reappearing message that we used a trial version of a converter to convert the format of the file.)

At first he was not cooperating and had his legs crossed for a long while. Then the tech bounced the apparatus on my belly ...I assume in the attempt to make him move. If so, it worked!

The first little arrow you will see appear is pointing out his little foot with toes. Then the second arrow that appears later in the video points out the "boy" factor. Right after that you can see it from another view. The technician tried to point it out right afterwards, but he moved. You can also see lots of profile pictures, ribs, and spine.

ENJOY!

Cheerleading Clinic

It hasn't really been THAT long!

Last Saturday Lynzi got to go to a cheer clinic at the high school. She was sooooooooooooo excited even though she was not feeling real well. She did a real good job. Her best friend Laila happened to be there too!

Ok. Of course the videos won't work! GRR! And...I dropped my camera after their last performance and couldn't get a pic of the whole group together. When at the game I noticed the flash wouldn't work. However, I did take a picture of her with her swimming teacher who is a varsity cheerleader...but it isn't on my camera. So obviously the camera is BROKE!!!

A New Tuesday

Today is the start of a new Tuesday. Lynzi has added another activity to her Tuesday schedule. I pick her up at school at 2:20pm. Then it is off to ballet about 3pm. Done there at 4pm. Then tonight is her first swimming lesson at 4:45pm. She is so excited!!! She has swimming on Tuesdays and Thursdays....but no ballet on Thursdays. So for the next 6 weeks...life on Tuesdays will be hectic!

Perhaps tomorrow I will have swimming pictures to post!

January, so far, has been a good one. We celebrated the new year with friends Andy and Krista in Ft. Wayne. We had fun playing games and eating of course. Lynzi and their son, Seth, played so well together!! I so wished they lived closer! Lynzi fights like sisters with her "girl" friends. The next morning the guys watched the kids and took them to lunch at Burger King, while Krista and I went maternity clothes shopping. Krista is due 07/08/09 (which we all think is a cool date!) and I am due 07/04/09. It is very often you get to go maternity shopping with a friend!! It was a good time just for us to talk. Now, if only we could figure out a time to SCRAP AGAIN! At midnight we toasted our sparkling grape juice to "healthy babies!!" Thanks again, Krista, for having us! You guys are always great hosts!

Friday I finally made it back to the YMCA. I just knew I wouldn't be able to the same amount of time on each cardio machine like I had back in November. But I tried. AND I DID IT!!! I was pretty impressed with myself. It had been almost 2 months since I had worked out. Gene and Lynzi went swimming and had a good time. I have yet made it back, but maybe tonight I will work out after Lynzi's lesson. Or maybe I will just go home and zonk out from the long day!

The sickness is getting better. I just have some restless nights and some nights I feel like I could sleep for 24 hours! Crazy! I have felt some flutters in my tummy...that is always a good feeling!

I will end with a couple cute things I heard Lynzi say....

1. "Mommy, I can't wait to see...that one thing again...what is it? Oh mom! Don't even try. You can't read my mind!"

2. "Mike Stiren (Sp) (imaginary friend) keeps peeing his pants." Later I see her on the floor with goggles on looking at a bear. "Stop watching me, mom." I said, "What are you doing?" I am working at the Butt Factory." So apparently she was making Mike Stiren (the bear) a new butt.

3."For selling Girl Scouts I want to win the camera!" I said, "You have to sell 1000. That might not happen! You already have a camera." She said, "But I want a REAL one." I said, "You have a REAL one." She said, "But mine doesn't zoom!" How does she know????? Does it matter when you are 5 years old? Apparently!
