Getting ready for card night
This year I was asked to join a Euchre Club. It has been so much fun. There are 8 of us and we take turns each month hosting it at our houses. May is my month. When we are the hostess we are in charge of fixing dinner, providing gifts for winners (everyone leaves with one) and having a little party favor for each person at the table. Last night I finished the party favors. An idea I got from my scrappy friend, Karmen.
It is a little plastic 4x6 picture frame with decorative paper slipped throught the slot. Then you stick a post it note on it. I made the pen by covering it up with the same decorative paper and covering it with clear beads. These are so fun...and useful!!

Mother's Day weekend
Saturday Lynzi and I went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I am sad to say that was the best part of my whole weekend! Lynzi had so much fun playing and playing and playing. She told me a few months ago that she would like to have her bday there this year. So I thought I would take a chance and ask her if she would like to save her tickets for her bday and get a BIGGER PRIZE. She agreed! I couldn't believe it!
Sunday....began with a whirlwind...literally.......A TORNADO! I had just gotten out of the shower when the bathroom lights barely flickered twice. I didn't think much of it ...it was thundering outside. Then came the sound of the tornado siren! OMG! I had just explained to Lynzi what the tornado sirens were for since we heard them testing them on Friday. So I ran upstairs and grabbed Lynzi out of bed and we stood in the hallway. I explained to her what was going on and she didn't seem scared at all. I must have hidden my fear too well. Gene was at work and called to make sure we were ok and told us there was a tornado about 2 miles from us. YIKES! On our way to church we saw a lot of damage to trees and power lines. Our church is by a big park with a few soccer fields and all their nets were knocked down and blown away. What and ugly mess. Then we got to church and there was no electricity. We ended up having Sunday School in the sanctuary all together. Lynzi was so disappointed because she loves her Sunday School class. They had a few teachers get up and do a mini lesson of what they were going to teach that day to the kids. When Lynzi's teacher went to the front she asked that Lynzi and Payton (her only two kids that day) come and sit with her. Then a little 2 year old went up and sat with them even though she wasn't in the class. (Lynzi and Payton are the closest ones in the church to her age...so they are her friends!) So afterwards Lynzi came to sit with me...and the other two followed. By the end of the service at noon..my nerves were shot!
After church Lynzi and I got a snack and headed to Marion to see my mom for Mother's Day. I got about 30 miles away and my car broke down...in the rain! My coolant gauge was saying I was overheating...but I had plenty of coolant and the car wasn't steaming...but I was! HA! Gene's work was gracious enough to let him come to my rescue! We got my car back to the Muncie Walmart and I drove him back to work. Lynzi and I finally ate lunch at KFC at about 3pm. Then we went to the New Castle Walmart to get 3 clay pots. And guess what........ you guessed it...they didn't have any!!!
So we go home and go to bed!
7pm came and we had to go back in the rain to pick Gene up from work. Then we went to Muncie to get my car thinking it has set long enough to cool off. I checked that walmart for the clay pots...yep! Had them! Finally! Something positive! Then we headed home. We had to pull over twice to let the car cool off! UGH! But we made it to the church parking lot and left it there for the night and ate some late appetizers for dinner. I was not about to cook on Mother's Day! HA!
Today Gene took the car to get it fixed. It was a thermostat. $90. Much better than $2000 that my dad just told me they got their car fixed for! WHEW! Praise God!
I did get a GC for Goodies from my hubby for Mother's Day. I said, "I am not your mother!" He said, "But you are the mother of our daughter!" Ok, I will take that! :)
Lynzi made me a cute flower pot with a flower already planted in it from children's church, a candle from Sunday School and a cute picture frame with her picture in it that she also made in children's church. It was a good day after all! :)

Just updating you on what is going on in the Siglin household...
This week has been hectic. We had our Annual Conference at church on Wednesday and it takes a lot of time to get ready for that. Today I just sent the last of the reports to the district. Whew!
Last Sunday afternoon we took Lynzi to the fair that was going on here in town this week. It was such a nice day out! Isn't she the cutest Harley Mama?
Let's see...Monday...I can't think of anything too exciting....
Tuesday...we got a new internet connection!!! YAY!!!!
Wednesday...I worked even though it was my day off to get ready for the annual conference.

Here is a cute picture of Lynzi playing with Gizmo...perhaps against his will. Last night I was online---having some "me" time when I heard her giggle. So I went into her room where she was fast asleep. She has done this on occasion...giggled in her sleep. So I kissed her on the cheek and said, "love you" and she whispered, "love you." This too...she has done on occasion...and I have to admit...I do it about every night just to see if she will do it. It gives me warm fuzzies!! I asked her this morning if she remembered doing that...and she said, "no". She did come in our bed later that night because she had a bad dream. She dreamt that the cat broke! YIKES! So I am assuming her giggles were because she was being playful with the cat. She always giggles when she plays with him.
This weekend we don't have a whole lot planned. Gene works the entire weekend so it is just Lynzi and I. Saturday we are going to go to Muncie to HOBBY LOBBY (yay me!) and CHUCK E CHEESE (yay Lynzi.)

True Colors?
Ok, so today I was creating a bulletin insert for this week's bulletin at church. I thought I would do pretty pastel colors for May. I chose pink, yellow and blue. Lynzi informed me that those were not the correct names. The names were Tingle (pink), Babysplash (yellow) and Nightstein (blue). Where does she get that??? Perhaps Crayola needs a few new color names!!

Scrapping Weekend with Krista
We had so much fun on our little weekend. It flew by! We scrapped, shopped and ate. Who could ask for a more fun?? It is always more fun with a good friend! I can't wait until we have another weekend! I may get caught up. I have Christmas pictures to do and then Easter thru today. Not to mention the whole Disney World Trip!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Gene and I have decided to paint some rooms in our home. I worked all day Saturday and Sunday (minus the time at church) to work on scraping off LAYERS of wallpaper in the downstairs bathroom! It was a big job! Gene was off on Monday...but since he was working with the stinkin' cable company dealing with our internet....he didn't get much done in the bathroom! Last night we finished peeling and painting! Here is a before picture and an after picture.

Internet---the lack of!
We are still frustrated with our internet service...or lack of. It has been running REAL SLOW and logging off and on, off and on, off and on....ever since Comcast took over Insight. Finally, last Friday it completely went out! We are still BUGGING them to fix it!!!! We have been without service for a week. It is quite ridiculous!!! So that is why I haven't blogged anything about the scrap weekend. I am now at the church just to blog! Sad, huh? Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope the sun shines for you!
Tea Party
Lynzi just enjoyed her first Tea Party. Her friend Sydney had a Princess Tea Party and had Lynzi and another friend over. They all brought their princess dresses and played dress up. Here are some cute pics!
They tried on each others clothes and put on make up and jewelry. Then they had (chocolate milk) tea, cookies, fruit and veggies. They went out side and played in the nice spring air and sat by the pond. It was a very fun time!

Packin for Scrappin
This weekend I will be going to Ft Wayne to scrapbook with my friend, Krista. I have not scrapped for a LONG TIME! I have sooooo much to catch up on. Do you think I have packed enough???

OH MY GOODNESS! MY BABY IS GETTING READY FOR KINDERGARTEN!
Today we went to Kindergarten Round Up. I have got to tell you, Lynzi is soooooooo excited about going to the big girl school.

Here the teacher tested her. It tested her letters, numbers, colors and shapes recognition as well as her counting skills and direction following skills. She did great. The teacher was impressed. The only thing she didn't know was the lower case g. At the end the teacher said, "We by no means expect the children to know these things before going to Kindergarten.....but your child already knows all of it! I was so proud of her. I got to see some old co-workers there. It was good to see them there. Lynzi didn't even know I use to work there. She thought that was neat. After signing her up we walked around the school to see the library, the art room and the cafeteria. She kept asking where the music room was. The door was not open so we didn't go in, but there were some pictures of the current kids singing on a bulletin board outside the classroom. She was content with that for now!

And another week ...flew by!
Wow...it is already the start of a new week. Things at the church are somewhat back to normal and I started a 2nd part time job. I love it! I really like my boss and of course I love being back in the pharmacy. Everyone there is real nice! God has been good to me.
So my days were spent working. I worked Mon and Tues 9-2 at church and 2-7 at the pharmacy. (It is right down the road from one another!) Wednesday I worked 2-7 at the pharmacy. Thursday I worked 9-2 at the church and 2-7 at the pharmacy. I only worked 9-2 at the church on Friday because I took Lynzi to Mamaw's and Papaw's in Marion after work.
While I was working all this time Gene and Lynzi got to spend a lot of time together. Gene was off Sunday thru Thursday. In that time he finished painting the front porch! YAY! It looks really nice. He took a picture on his phone. I will have to have him send it to me so I can post it. It used to be a dark brown wood and he painted it a light cream color. He also cleaned a bunch of "junk" out of the porch too! It is starting to look nice. I am now looking for a small curtain for the front door window that doesn't darken the room.
Tuesday I attended the church board meeting. It went well...better than expected. Writing a letter and telling people my side of things...and expressing how I feel isn't a normal thing for me. But it went well. I left the meeting feeling like I had more support than I thought!
Wednesday I went to lunch with my friend, Julie! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HER! Of course we went to Los!
Friday night Gene and I had a late dinner at Applebees.
Saturday I went SHOPPING with Julie in Greenwood. We had a fun time at Old Time Pottery, T.J. Maxx, JoAnn's, Kohl's and On the Border. Yes, we like Mexican! HA!
Today I went to church were I was one of the teachers for Children's Church. It was fun. We learned that God made all the animals. The kids had fun acting out different animals and then making some of their own with Play Doh! Then I went to the Healton's for some homemade lasagna! YUM! And to top that off....Dirt Pudding!!! Then it was off to Marion to pick up Lynzi.
We didn't stay long because Lynzi really wanted to go to church. She loves her classes and her friends! I am glad!
Well, off to get ready for yet another week! I am really looking forward to my weekend in Fort Wayne with my friend Krista! I hope I get lots done as well as some good fellowship with my friend!

A Glance of the Past Week
Wow...another week has came and went. Lynzi was on Spring Break. Poor thing...she has nothing exciting to report to school about her "vacation." It was mostly cold and/or rainy. Today it has been a pretty sunny day. We went to my friend, Karmen's, house to help her clean out 397 1/2 gallon milk jugs for a special project she has planned in July for the kids at church. Lynzi went along. She took her chalk and colored for a little bit on the sidewalk. I left her there with Mike and Morgan (husband and daughter of Karmen) while we ran to get more trash bags to store the jugs in. When we got back she had a bowl of popcorn....from MIKE! She acts so funny around him. I don't what the deal is. She has always been that way. She will talk nonstop about him at home, but when face to face...heck, in the same room, she gets shy and wants me to hold her. Funny! Well, I think they have truced with a bowl of popcorn!
The only thing to really report this week is that I am starting a 2nd job Monday! Back to the ol' pharmacy work! I love it! I can't wait. I will be working for a friend of mine. I wasn't going to start until NEXT Monday but she texted me and asked me to start this Monday! She has too much work to keep up with. A good problem to have when you start a new business! I am excited for her as well! She is a good gal!
Nothing too exciting happening next week. Gene pretty much has the week off. He is working today and will not go back until Friday! Boy does he have it nice, huh? I will be working 2 jobs this week! HA! But I am by no means complaining! Monday I get to start my 2nd job. Tuesday I will be attending the church board meeting. (Pray for me here!) Wednesday I am off from the church, but perhaps will work at the pharmacy. Gene will be working next weekend...so no plans next weekend either. It is nice to just stay home and get things done around the house. Perhaps I will get some scrapbooking done. OH! Thank God it is SATURDAY!

This has been quite a week! It has certainly had ups and downs to it. The downs ....wow what a shocker! Lies were told about me at work by members in the church that I have done nothing to! These people, in my opinion, have too much time on their hands. However I cannot be told who they are. By the end of yesterday, I have a really good feeling. You will see why later in my posting. Therefore, I cannot make things right with them. I definately don't agree with the fact they went to the pastor and not to me. Nor do I agree with him not telling them to go to me. It hurts, not because I am good friends with these, but that someone would want to attack me for no reason. In fact, I have done lots of office favors for them. Copying this or that...looking up information, etc. So why would they do this? These people have pulled the wool over my bosses eyes as well as some of those on the church board. This all came about when I got an evaluation....no, a write up! There was nothing but negative things on this form...so it was not an evaluation. My first "evaluation" in 3 years. Things were said in a they-must-change-IMMEDIATELY-or-else kind of way. Well yesterday I had the opportunity to sit down with the pastor and assistant pastor (as a mediator) to work some things out. (I do have to admit, something sent me over the edge and I was quite IRATE!) So we sat down and yelled at each other...and then that soon came to calm conversation. More lies came to the surface. Thanks to God, and to my good friend who was with me at the time...I was able to prove those wrong, right then and there! I hope they realize the others were untrue as well. I don't believe anything will be done with these persons. Even though I got disciplined for the things they accused me of...it is sad, but I am sure these people will not be approached. I say this because I haven't been approached in 3 years! They don't like confrontation...who does? But nothing can be fixed if the problems aren't addressed. I have had many annual evaluations at past jobs. You go over what needs improvement, what you do well, and set goals. This was nothing like that! I have never had a negative evaluation. To say the least I was very hurt.
However, God is showing himself. I went to call a friend and she had just went on a break at work and her cell phone rang. Other job opportunities are starting to surface. (First let me tell you 2 of the many things that were said about/to me in the "evaluation". One--I bit somone's head off on the phone. --Not true! And two---Lynzi's being at work with me is becoming a problem because she clutter's up the office when she is there.) The owner of this company (where I would LOVE to work) said, "I would like you to work for me because I need a kind person to be there when I cannot and you are a kind person!" She also said, "If you need to go pick up Lynzi at school you can leave and bring her back here. She can play games on the computer and I have the Disney channel there." This person has NO clue what happened to me that week. I believe God was telling me that things would be alright!
I had been working on a letter to give to each board member. I will now need to revamp it a little since many of the things were addressed and resolved, but my character still needs to be restored to those on the board. And for this reason I need to go ahead with the letter.
Wow...did I ramble or what? I am over it, can ya tell?? HAHAHAHAHA!
Now to the ups.... I had a great week with my family and friends this week. Friday night we all went to see the drama at church. It was great....like always!
Then we came home and had to install a new water heater. Thanks to the help of a good friend of ours at church. We owe him big time! While the guys were working on that Lynzi and I went to our church Easter Egg Hunt. Again she had so much fun. We were surprised to see Sydney, Lynzi's friend, and Karen, my friend, there. They had so much fun. Lynzi found one of the special eggs and got one of the grand prizes!

We came home and cooked some food for Easter and colored eggs.
Sunday we went to Marion to visit with Mamaw and Papaw and then went to visit with Gene's aunt and uncle there. They were both nice visits. It was crazy ...at one moment it was SNOWING BIG SNOWFLAKES! It was crazy. Just from nowhere! (well from the sky...I do know that!) HA!

This week Lynzi was in charge of bringing snacks. The kids get so excited about this...because they get to be the leader all week. This week was 'S' week. So we took Striped cookies, Smiley face fruit snacks, S'more cereal, Strawberry juice boxes, Sunny D and ...um....Smilk. HA! Wednesday was silly socks day. We weren't too creative but she found a pair of socks she wanted to wear that were all different colors and had circles and hearts on them. Then on Friday ...a field trip to the fire station where they learned about fire safety. Last night we drilled Lynzi to see what she rememebered. She answered all the questions right! She just sits there and listens and I just don't know if she is "getting" it. But she is!
On Wednesday I had breakfast at Starbuck's with my friend Michelle. Her and I met thru our daughters' ballet classes. Our friendship has bloomed this year. She is a Mary Kay consultant. I recently had a party with her and.....
OOOOOPS I DID IT AGAIN!!!!!
Yes, I have signed up again to be a consultant!!!! I have nothing to lose. I love the stuff! I truly do! And I want everyone to know about it!!!! I bought the new Microdermembrasion at my party. You are to use it 2-3 times a week. You can ask Gene, I get sooooooo excited when it is a day I get to use it! (See what I mean about ups and downs this week!!!)
So I should be recieving my kit on Tuesday. I have went thru all my old stuff, like tapes and such, and put them all out on a table. I have listened to every tape/cd and started to read Mary Kay Ash's book. HA! I GOTTA GET READY!!!! HA!
Today Lynzi and I are going shopping for a birthday gift for a little girl in her preschool class. Pray for us about 7pm! She will be attempting the bowling thing again! She is excited about that...so I am glad!

This has been quite a week! It has certainly had ups and downs to it. The downs ....wow what a shocker! Lies were told about me at work by members in the church that I have done nothing to! These people, in my opinion, have too much time on their hands. However I cannot be told who they are. By the end of yesterday, I have a really good feeling. You will see why later in my posting. Therefore, I cannot make things right with them. I definately don't agree with the fact they went to the pastor and not to me. Nor do I agree with him not telling them to go to me. It hurts, not because I am good friends with these, but that someone would want to attack me for no reason. In fact, I have done lots of office favors for them. Copying this or that...looking up information, etc. So why would they do this? These people have pulled the wool over my bosses eyes as well as some of those on the church board. This all came about when I got an evaluation....no, a write up! There was nothing but negative things on this form...so it was not an evaluation. My first "evaluation" in 3 years. Things were said in a they-must-change-IMMEDIATELY-or-else kind of way. Well yesterday I had the opportunity to sit down with the pastor and assistant pastor (as a mediator) to work some things out. (I do have to admit, something sent me over the edge and I was quite IRATE!) So we sat down and yelled at each other...and then that soon came to calm conversation. More lies came to the surface. Thanks to God, and to my good friend who was with me at the time...I was able to prove those wrong, right then and there! I hope they realize the others were untrue as well. I don't believe anything will be done with these persons. Even though I got disciplined for the things they accused me of...it is sad, but I am sure these people will not be approached. I say this because I haven't been approached in 3 years! They don't like confrontation...who does? But nothing can be fixed if the problems aren't addressed. I have had many annual evaluations at past jobs. You go over what needs improvement, what you do well, and set goals. This was nothing like that! I have never had a negative evaluation. To say the least I was very hurt.
However, God is showing himself. I went to call a friend and she had just went on a break at work and her cell phone rang. Other job opportunities are starting to surface. (First let me tell you 2 of the many things that were said about/to me in the "evaluation". One--I bit somone's head off on the phone. --Not true! And two---Lynzi's being at work with me is becoming a problem because she clutter's up the office when she is there.) The owner of this company (where I would LOVE to work) said, "I would like you to work for me because I need a kind person to be there when I cannot and you are a kind person!" She also said, "If you need to go pick up Lynzi at school you can leave and bring her back here. She can play games on the computer and I have the Disney channel there." This person has NO clue what happened to me that week. I believe God was telling me that things would be alright!
I had been working on a letter to give to each board member. I will now need to revamp it a little since many of the things were addressed and resolved, but my character still needs to be restored to those on the board. And for this reason I need to go ahead with the letter.
Wow...did I ramble or what? I am over it, can ya tell?? HAHAHAHAHA!
Now to the ups.... I had a great week with my family and friends this week. Friday night we all went to see the drama at church. It was great....like always!
Last Saturday we went to the White Water Railroad Station in Connersville to go on the Easter Bunny Express. It was cold, but Lynzi had fun. And we all enjoyed watching her expressions.
Then we came home and had to install a new water heater. Thanks to the help of a good friend of ours at church. We owe him big time! While the guys were working on that Lynzi and I went to our church Easter Egg Hunt. Again she had so much fun. We were surprised to see Sydney, Lynzi's friend, and Karen, my friend, there. They had so much fun. Lynzi found one of the special eggs and got one of the grand prizes!

We came home and cooked some food for Easter and colored eggs.Sunday we went to Marion to visit with Mamaw and Papaw and then went to visit with Gene's aunt and uncle there. They were both nice visits. It was crazy ...at one moment it was SNOWING BIG SNOWFLAKES! It was crazy. Just from nowhere! (well from the sky...I do know that!) HA!
